Bio coming soon
I graduated from Kellogg Community College with my Associates in Applied Science in 1997. I started my career working for a General Dentist in Coldwater, MI before joining Springcrest Dental Associates in July 1998.
My interest in dentistry began as a child when I was going through orthodontic treatment. It was my passion to do something in the medical field so that I could help people. With encouragement from my own dental hygienist, I applied to hygiene school and was accepted to the program after high school.
I am blessed to have a career that allows me to build personal relationships with each of my patients. It is my goal to build confidence in my patients by helping them realize the importance of their dental health and how it is directly related to their overall well being. It is exceptionally rewarding to see the transformation in patients after educating them on oral health care. It is also rewarding to see the excitement on a child’s face after their first visit and when they tell me they cannot wait to come back for their next visit.
It has been a journey here at Springcrest Dental Associates. I have seen many changes over the years and I feel they have been positive changes. We strive to be our best and do what is best for our patients, making them feel comfortable and important.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my two boys in their extra-curricular activities.
I truly enjoy working at Springcrest Dental Associates. After working in retail for many years, I felt it was time for a change and Springcrest has proven to be the best change I could have asked for. I began working for Springcrest Dental in June of 2004 and during my time here, I have been able to earn my Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate and my Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license. We are lucky to have an amazing team at Springcrest Dental. I could not ask for a better group of people to work with; we are more than a team, we are a family that truly cares about one another.
For many people, the dental office is not their favorite place to visit, so it is my goal to make it a better experience for patients whenever possible. It is very rewarding for me when patients are able to walk away from their appointments feeling good about their time spent with us.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, sons, grandson, and friends. I also like to travel and enjoy scrapbooking and other crafts.
After working in the healthcare field for twenty years, I decided to make a change. I have now been a part of the Springcrest Dental Associates family since August 2005. You will see me working at the front desk greeting patients, handling the financial aspects of your appointment, and scheduling return visit. I take pride in knowing that our patients are receiving excellent care from the moment they walk in the door by every team member here. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our grown children, our large extended families, and friends.
I am a Registered Dental Hygienist and have been working at Springcrest Dental since July of 2015. I have earned two Associates Degrees; one in General Studies in the spring of 2014 and one in Dental Hygiene in the spring of 2015, both through Lansing Community College. I continued my studies through Siena Heights and earned a Bachelors Degree in Health Studies with a minor in Health Care Management.
My husband and I have four children and a dog. All of our children are or were actively involved in sports and band. My son has graduated and was a wrestler and football player in high school. My daughter is in band, volleyball, and basketball. My stepdaughter is in band, swimming and is attending college classes in culinary arts while completing high school. My stepson is in the band, plays basketball and enjoys fishing. Hank, our family dog, is a black lab and very much a part of our family. He loves swimming in the lake, playing fetch and chasing birds. We all enjoy spending time at our family cottage and sitting around the campfire.
I chose this career path because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. I enjoy teaching my patients about their oral health so they can make an educated effort to be the healthiest they can be. The oral cancer screenings and head and neck exams are given by our staff is something that can save lives. This is something that saved the life of my husband. Thyroid cancer had spread to his lymph nodes and down his neck. Luckily the lump was found early enough and after two surgeries and radiation, he is now in remission. I look forward to meeting new patients and building on the relationships that are already formed with our current patients. We are a family here and do everything possible to make you feel as though you are a part of it.
I started my career as a dental assistant in 1996 and began working with Springcrest Dental in February 2016. It is important to me, and everyone here, that our patients know they are in a good space, where they will be treated with respect and compassion. We are all experienced professionals who love providing gentle dental care that improves each of our patients’ lives. I work hand-in-hand with Dr. Rutledge in many aspects of patient care. I really enjoy helping to get patients out of pain, improving their oral health, and giving them a beautiful smile.
I am a mother to my beautiful 5-year-old little girl and happily in a relationship with my boyfriend and his two sons. We enjoy spending our time together as a family.
